⏩中國正面臨經濟復甦乏力、房地產危機及地方債務壓力等挑戰，內部政治穩定備受關注。美國總統川普（Donald Trump）第一個總統任內的首任國安顧問佛林（Michael Flynn）27日發文寫道：「中共顯然正在發生權力更迭。中國觀察家需要密切關注中共核心成員，尤其政府和國家安全部門的官員失去信心」，他示警中共領導層的變動造成的後果是巨大的。

⏩曾任美國陸軍中將、美國國防情報局局長、國家安全顧問的佛林也在社群平台X（前推特）的貼文Po出兩張圖，一張是中共官員在人民大會堂開會的場景；另外一張圖包括中共中央政治局常委丁薛祥、上海市長陳吉寧和中共中央軍委會第一副主席張又俠，引發聯想。丁薛祥被擺放在中間，佛林似乎暗指他將取代習近平擔任中共總書記。

⏩中共政局動盪、中共總書記習近平失勢等傳聞甚囂塵上之際，除了丁薛祥之外，汪洋也被爆出是競爭總書記的可能人選，有消息指稱，丁薛祥和全國政協主席汪洋、全國政協副主席胡春華、3人將競爭總書記。隸屬團派的前中共總書記胡錦濤、前中共總理溫家寶溫力薦汪洋或胡春華接班，張又俠也表態支持。陳吉寧則因為他投靠了胡錦濤，可能當總理。

⏩另一方面，前中央軍委會委員苗華今年6月被免去中央軍委會委員，中央軍委會副主席何衛東今年3月下旬因為涉及貪腐被帶走調查，迄今下落不明。外界解讀，習近平利用苗華、何衛東這兩個重要親信來看管軍隊，因此藉反腐名義清洗張又俠的人馬，藉機扳倒張又俠，卻遭到張又俠及背後元老的反擊，得到軍內高級將領支持的張又俠目前已完全主掌軍權。

⏩曾在北京對外經濟貿易大學任教的美國前駐百慕達大使史雷頓（Gregory W. Slayton）28日在《紐約郵報》也撰文分析，從過去幾個月以來情況來看，習近平下台的局勢可能已迫在眉睫，包括在2022年中國共產黨第二十次全國代表大會上被習近平羞辱的胡錦濤等中共大老們正在幕後操縱一切。
